Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The popular resale platform has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Digital Channels Reaction
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing due to the recalibration.
The platform stated the new system was more in line with similar services.
They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance.
Size Classification Updates
Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.
Shopper Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.
Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she said.
Required Changes
Another shopper, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Platform Context
The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users.
It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
